Manhattan’s Gogol Bordello are back with yet another album, this marking their sixth full-length. The gypsy-folk punk band maintain their sound while slowing things down a bit and taking another look at song structure. DZ Deathrays – Gebbie Street

Of course there’s great, new music coming out of Australia (when is there not?). Brisbane’s DZ Deathrays introduce a new take on music few have experimented with before. The Sleigh Bells of indie pop, DZ Deathrays has come to be called “thrash pop” and have shown us that the bright and bubbly indie pop we know and love can indeed be complemented with elements of hardcore and thrash punk. Ravenna Woods – In the World

Seattle’s Ravenna Woods are making waves in the indie scene. As experimental as they come, the mainly acoustic band has been able to gain some notoriety based on their punk style of guitar. Full of dark content and spastic guitarwork, Ravenna Woods creates an internal debate with every song.
