Jacuzzi Boys – Double Vision

Miami, Florida’s alternative sensation Jacuzzi Boys are back with their brand new, self-titled album due out September 10th. Breezy vocals soar over zip guitar lines, laser-like keys, tambourines, and hand claps while groovy bass lines keep the album flowing from song to song. A lazy feel to the lo-fi indie makes Jacuzzi Boys a nice, relaxing listen while allowing the listener to reflect on the past, present, and future. Surfer Blood – I Was Wrong

West Palm Beach, Florida’s Surfer Blood are back with their new album Pythons which came out last week. Pythons is a perfect example of a sophomore release; refining the band’s sound while maintaining their core attitudes and original stylings. The new album is on track for Top 20 of 2013 lists everywhere. With a cleaner and tighter sound, the rather short album (10 songs in 32 minutes) will get stuck in your head and have you bobbing along for days. Send Away Stranger – Beats Me, Dog

Straight out of Tallahassee, Florida, Send Away Stranger makes some of the freshest and best emo/math rock around. With noodle-y guitar lines, ever-changing drums, and high-energy vocals, Send Away Stranger makes you want to jump up and kick some rear ends. Each instrument seems to be doing its own thing, independent of one another, and yet they combine to form a super-product, a perfect example of musical synergy. Look Mexico – Not On My Watch

Florida’s Look Mexico are the best band you’ve never heard of. After a series of lineup changes, they began putting out music in 2006. With elements of math rock, post rock, and alternative, Look Mexico provide a new and refreshing take on music with each song. Chaotic yet controlled drums carry the song through sporadic, off-kilter guitar lines and bright, crisp vocals. Though their style has changed over the years, each album and EP they put out offers something new. Plus, all their song titles are Vin Diesel quotes, so there’s that.
