Grouper – Vital

Grouper is Liz Harris, Portland, Oregon-based multi-instrumentalist and experimental folk artist with a penchant for echoes and ambience. The big, roomy, nearly atmospheric brand of folk is reminiscent of newer Bon Iver and Deerhunter. With eight albums in as many years, Liz Harris is one of the most consistent artists out right now. Plus, with widely recognized support from acts such as Animal Collective and Xiu Xiu, it’s going to be hard not to garner some attention. Deerhunter – Back to the Middle

Bradford Cox is Deerhunter, one of Atlanta, Georgia’s premier indie rock/electronic group. A pleasant mix of experimental indie pop and noise rock, the band fits in somewhere in between Tame Impala and Spoon. Though their sound has changed with each album, it’s never once taken a step back. Also, Cox tends to wear a traditional dress on stage (it’s pretty strange).
