The Cultural Vibe

The Cultural Vibe is a 4-hour block dedicated to bringing Michigan State the best hip-hop, rap, R&B, soul, funk, and reggae the world has to offer! From 8 PM -12 AM host DJ Riddle mixes your favorite boom-bap hip-hop classics fluidly along with current underground and mainstream rap joints, providing the perfect soundtrack to your Saturday night each week. With the goal of keeping Michigan State and the Capital Area in-touch with the Michigan hip-hop scene, DJ Riddle gives away concert tickets and provides interviews with some of hip-hop’s budding stars on a weekly basis.

As one of the original Specialty Shows on Impact 89FM, The Vibe dates back to 1989 offering a talented roster of past DJ’s that have passed the torch on-to the next host, successfully gaining and fostering the attention of East Lansing and Lansing’s hip-hop community. So Vibe out with Impact 89FM each Saturday night. Whether you tune in to hear from A$AP Rocky or Aesop Rock, Marvin Gaye or Madvillian, Ziggy Marley or Z-Trip, there is always something on The Vibe that you can get down to.

The Vibe 8/9

Tonight, DJ CJax goes solo in his very first episode of The Cultural Vibe without his partner-in-crime DJ Spenny. In honor of the occasion, CJax will be playing music from the greatest Hip-Hop/R&B groups of all time among the usual cutting edge tracks. Whether if you’re looking to get down with some Wu-Tang Clan, A Tribe Called Quest or Chance The Rapper, the Impact’s Cultural Vibe tonight from 8pm-midnight is the place to be.
