What made you come to Michigan State?

“Growing up, I’ve always been a Michigan State fan. I came here for my visit and got to see what it had to offer and I just fell in love with the campus right as I got on, so after that it was an easy decision.”

What are some of the other things you like to do around campus?

“Probably just experience all the other things they have to offer like the tailgates. Just the atmosphere when there’s a football game or basketball game, to just experience that since I’m on the other end of it with hockey.”

Who is your favorite team to play against?

“Probably Minnesota or Michigan just because it’s a big rivalry, but Minnesota probably because they’re number one No. 1 in the nation just about every weekend so it’s good to put yourself up against the best players in the nation.”

What do you like to drink before a game?

“I’m just a water guy usually, but if anything I’ll mix in a yellow Gatorade here and there.”

If it’s late at night and you’re hungry, what are you ordering or what do you make yourself?

“Probably a bowl of Fruit Loops. You can’t go wrong with a bowl of Fruit Loops.”

Do you put milk in it?

“Of course. You have to get some milk in there.”

What’s your favorite movie?

“Sports related, probably Miracle. I’d have to go with Superbad or Step Brothers for comedy.”

Do you have a movie that’s a guilty pleasure?

“Around this time, probably Elf. Can’t get enough of Elf.”

What do you like to listen to before a game?

“It might surprise people but country. It doesn’t really always get people going, but it kind of relaxes me and keeps me calm.”

Do you remember your first goal?

“Yeah against UMass Lowell in the third period. I remember I came down the left side and went to the glove hand. I don’t think I’ll ever forget that one.”
