Michigan State Falls to Harvard

The Harvard Crimson proved to be a little too strong for the Spartans, as Michigan State lost their second-straight match to bring their record to 5-7.

Harvard swept Michigan State in doubles play, but it was not easy.

The doubles teams of John Patrick Mullane and Drew Lied and Gijs Linders and Harry Jadun both lost 8-6. Harvard’s Sebastian Beltrame and Christo Schultz defeated Aaron Pfister and Brett Forman, 8-7 in doubles play as well.

Michigan State is 31-28 overall in doubles competition.

Harvard took four of the six games in singles competition. Michigan State’s wins came courtesy of Forman and Linders. Forman’s singles record improves to 13-5 and Linders is now 7-9.

The Spartans currently have the worst overall record in the Big Ten, but will have a chance to bounce back Wednesday against Western Michigan.
