Spartans Hit the Road in Hopes to Defeat the Fighting Illini

The No. 24 Spartans will head to Champaign, Ill. to face the Fighting Illini for the second time this season. MSU lost 61-51 when they last met in East Lansing two weeks ago. The Spartans have not lost a Big Ten road game so far and are 7-2 in conference play.

Forward Becca Mills led the Spartans with 17 points in the teams’ last meeting Jan. 23.

Last year at Illinois, center Jasmine Hines had her only career double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds.

Illinois has lost three-straight games since their win against the Spartans and are now 2-7 in the Big Ten. They lead the Big Ten with 11.3 steals a game, but are last in field goal percentage. Their second leading scorer, Ivory Crawford, has raised her points per game average from 15.2 to 17.7.

Tip-off is set for 8 p.m. at the State Farm Center in Champaign, Ill.
