Spartans Looking to Bounce Back After Tough Weekend Series

The Spartans kicked off their season last weekend against Massachusetts and came up short in both games. Friday’s contest ended in a 3-1 loss, followed by a 5-2 loss on Saturday.

Head coach Tom Anastos said the team played much better on Saturday, but special teams did not have a good showing. The Spartans lacked discipline and that resulted in four power play goals by Massachusetts.

Anastos, Michael Ferrantino and Will Yanakeff were in attendance at today’s press conference. Despite being swept over the weekend, the Spartans are excited to play hockey in front of the hometown crowd at Munn Ice Arena.

Students in attendance will be given “A-Team” jerseys to wear in support for the Spartans.

The Spartans will play UMass-Lowell Friday night at 7 p.m. and Boston University on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
